About Training

OSP training provides PIs and unit administrators with updated information about sponsored project management. Training sessions are available throughout the year based on needed information and upon request.

Registration prior to all workshops is requested. Please follow these instructions:

      From the menu in the top right corner choose “Register for Workshops”
      Log in with your NetID and password
      Select “Events” from the top menu
      In the search box under “View By” choose “Departments” then “Office of Sponsored Programs – OSP” and click “Search”
      Choose the title of the course you would like to take
      Click on available date you would like to attend
      Select “Register” in the bottom right corner

Cost Share
Provides an overview of managing cost share on sponsored projects. Topics will include cost share procedures from the beginning stages of the proposal to the required post award actions. Tracking and monitoring cost share, and reviewing the roles and responsibilities of OSP, PIs, and unit administrators are also discussed.

Fall and Summer Hiring on Sponsored Projects
Provides an overview of the hiring process on sponsored projects in preparation for the Fall and Summer semesters. Topics include review of position types, steps for charging labor, processing pay, and reconciling labor charges.

Lunch and Learn
An informal session on various topics related to sponsored research administration.  Most sessions will have guest speakers and lots of time for questions and discussion.  Check the OSP calendar for upcoming sessions.

Payroll Certification on Federally Sponsored Projects
Provides an overview of effort reporting versus payroll certification, the payroll certification process, and monitoring of effort and salary on federally sponsored projects.

OSP Roundtable Discussion
An information session for unit administrators working with sponsored projects. Topics will include updates on policies and procedures, as well as anything new related to sponsored projects.
